The Canadian Community Newspapers Association is pleased to present its 86th National Convention in partnership with the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association. The 86th National Convention will take place June 1-4, 2005, in Banff, Alberta, and will be attended by industry leaders and senior managers from community newspapers across Canada.

This year's theme is "What's Next?" Community newspapers are putting their best foot forward, and finally, the advertising world is taking notice. ComBase, Community Media Canada, Verified Circulation, Market Analyzer—progressive steps that are positioning the community newspaper industry as the "it" medium and leveling the playing field in the media marketplace. But are we there yet? What challenges and opportunities are still to come? Join us in Banff as we explore what's next for this growing, vibrant sector.

A federation of seven regional newspaper associations, CCNA was founded in 1919 as the Canadian Weekly Newspapers Association (CWNA), and held its first convention in 1920. Today, the CCNA represents a membership of more than 700 community newspapers, which are primarily English-language publications.
